Jameson was established in 1780 by John Jameson. Jameson developed a unique triple distilled whiskey unlike the American Whiskeys, which are typically only distilled once, and Scotch whiskies, which are usually distilled twice. This traditional triple distilled whiskey has become the Jameson signature, synonymous with very high and assured quality.

Jameson wanted to entice younger customers to try the Jameson brand and needed a novel way to do so.

The Little Book Bottle Collar urged a new generation to taste test Jameson's Irish Whiskey. The compact front panels told the Jameson story, whist the flip side featured distinctive recipes for long drinks and cocktails. The Bottle Collar format provided an eye-catching on-product promotion for Jameson Irish Whiskey.
